Megan Nolan shortlisted for Gordon Burn Prize and Nero Book Award

Congratulations to Megan Nolan, whose ORDINARY HUMAN FAILINGS has been shortlisted for the 2024 Gordon Burn Prize and Nero Book Awards in the UK!

The Gordon Burn Prize recognizes innovative new literature across genres, including “novels which dare to enter history and interrogate the past.” The prize will be awarded in March; the full shortlist is available here.

The Nero Book Awards honor outstanding British and Irish writing. Winners in each category will be announced on January 30th and the Awards’ Book of the Year will be named on March 14th. The full shortlists are available here.

Matthew Zapruder named a NBCC Finalist

We’re delighted that Matthew Zapruder has been named a National Book Critics Circle Award finalist in Autobiography for THE STORY OF A POEM! The full list of 2023 finalists for the prize, presented to “the finest books published in English,” is here. Winners will be announced at the 2024 NBCC ceremony on March 21st.

Javier Zamora wins LA Times-Christopher Isherwood Prize for Autobiographical Prose

The 2022 LA Times-Christopher Isherwood Prize has been won by Javier Zamora for Solito: A Memoir.

“What’s impressive about this book is not just the story, but the way it’s told,” the prize judges said. “Somehow Zamora, an award-winning poet, stays true to the child’s perspective at no sacrifice to language or craft. We’re delighted to give him this prize.”
